Time Rift guide: builds, combos and how to beat the Warden
The best players treat standing still as a pause button and moving as a commitment.

When you lift your thumb, the world drops to about a tenth of normal speed. Use it whenever the screen gets busy: stop, look for the gap, then move through it. You lose nothing by stopping except a few seconds of your own time.
2. Keep moving in circles
Enemies come from every side. Moving in wide circles keeps the crowd behind you, lets your weapons work on the edges and drags enemies into tight groups – perfect for crit chains and Gravity Wells.
3. Pick an area weapon early
The blade is strong at first, but by two minutes the swarm is too big for one weapon. Take Pulse Nova, Chain Lightning or Gravity Well in your first few levels.
4. Plan one combo
- Storm Nova (Lightning + Nova) is the easiest all-rounder: wide damage and chains.
- Singularity (Gravity Well + Missiles) wipes out whole waves at once.
- Glass Storm (Shards + Precision) turns crits into constant chain explosions around you.
- Rift Dash (Blade + Swift) rewards always moving with a blade that never stops.
Cards for a combo partner show up more often once you own the other half, so commit to one plan.
5. Brush past danger on purpose
Near misses fill the Rift meter. Skimming past enemy bullets while moving charges it fastest, and a full meter gives you Rift Surge: slow motion with your weapons at full speed.
6. Beating the Chrono Warden
- At 3:00 the Warden arrives with rings of bullets. Stop moving the moment a ring appears, find the gap, then move through it.
- Its minions keep you levelling, so keep collecting energy during the fight.
- Single-target damage helps here: Missiles, Lightning and a high-level Blade.
Every run is fair and nothing can be bought, so each win is down to your choices. Start a run.
