How to play
Players take turns marking an empty square with X or O. The first to get three marks in a row – across, down or diagonally – wins. If all nine squares fill without a line, it’s a draw. A new round starts automatically.
Strategy tips
- As X, start in a corner: it gives your opponent the most chances to go wrong.
- As O, answer a corner opening by taking the centre.
- Always block an immediate threat before making your own.
- Look for a fork: a move that creates two lines of two at once.
Computer levels
Hard plays perfectly – the best you can do is draw. Medium makes occasional mistakes, and Easy plays mostly at random, which makes it good for young players.
FAQ
Can you beat a perfect player?
