Minesweeper

Clear every safe square without hitting a mine, using the numbers as clues.

How to play

  • Click a square to dig. Your first click is always safe.
  • A number shows how many of the eight neighbouring squares contain mines.
  • Right-click, long-press on a phone, or switch on Flag mode to mark a mine.
  • Click a number whose mines are all flagged to open all its other neighbours at once (chording).
  • Uncover every square that is not a mine to win. The smiley starts a new game.

Levels

Beginner 9×9 with 10 mines, Intermediate 16×16 with 40 mines and Expert 30×16 with 99 mines. On narrow screens the Expert board is turned upright so the squares stay tappable.

Strategy tips

  • A 1 touching only one hidden square means that square is a mine.
  • When a number already has all its mines flagged, every other neighbour is safe.
  • Learn patterns like 1-2-1 and 1-2-2-1 along walls – they resolve without guessing.
  • When you must guess, pick squares with the fewest constraints, such as corners far from numbers.

FAQ

Is every game solvable without guessing?

No – like the classic game, some boards need a guess. Using patterns keeps those moments rare.
