FreeCell

All 52 cards are face up, so almost every deal can be solved by skill. Use the four free cells wisely.

How to play

  • Build the four foundations (top right) up by suit from Ace to King.
  • The four free cells (top left) each hold one card temporarily.
  • In the eight columns, build down in alternating colours, such as a red 6 on a black 7. Any card can go into an empty column.
  • Tap a card to send it to the best place, or drag it. Cards that can no longer be needed in the columns move to the foundations automatically.

Moving several cards

You may move a sequence of cards at once when there is enough free space to do it one card at a time: up to (free cells + 1) × 2 to the power of the empty columns. With two free cells and one empty column you can move six cards.

Numbered deals

The deals follow the classic numbering from 1 to 32000, so you can replay a game, compare with friends, or try famous deals. Type a number and press Play deal. Deal #11982 is the well-known one that cannot be solved.

Strategy tips

  • Free the Aces and Twos first; they are often buried.
  • Keep free cells empty for as long as you can – each full cell halves your options.
  • An empty column is worth more than a free cell because it doubles the number of cards you can move.
  • Think before filling the last free cell: make sure your next move frees one again.
